The origins of Reserva Conchal first emerged in the late 1990s, when a a visionary development plan was launched to turn the area into upscale resort and residential community. The Reserva Conchal Golf Course, which was opened in 1996, was designed by renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones II; resulting in an 18-hole championship course that blends naturally with Costa Rica’s tropical surroundings and provides a difficult and beautiful golfing experience.

Course
The name of this course is Garra de Leon, which means “Lion Claw” in Spanish. The lush vegetation, lakes and spectacular ocean views of Guanacaste’s scenic beauty flawlessly blend with the complexity of the Golf Course. Each hole is named after a piece of Costa Rica flora and fauna. Names such as “Ceiba,” “Mariposa,” “Tigre,” “Orquídea,” and “Cascada” are among the well-known hole names in this golf course.
